What Can You Find Along the Bike Route?
Cyclists can easily connect to two of Arlington’s best bike trails – the Martha Custis Trail and the Washington & Old Dominion Trail (W&OD) – from Langston Boulevard. The W&OD Trail begins in Shirlington, just off I-395 Exit 6 and ends out in rural Purcellville, VA. It’s a great trail to take you through the Northern VA counties and is paved with nine ft wide asphalt, has a painted yellow center line, and a parallel horse trail along much of the trail. Unlike the W&OD, the Custis Trail is not a Trail-to-Trail turns over the trail’s four-mile length. The trail is also a very useful way for cyclists to get to downtown DC on a bike in a quick and safe

Lyon Village Shopping Center is home to a number of Langston Boulevard favorites. After picking up supplies from Big Wheel Bikes or takeout from BGR: The Burger Joint, cyclists can make a stop at The Italian Store for sandwiches, pizza or pasta, visit Starbucks for a cup of coffee, or drop off some laundry at the Cleaners.
Hop on your bike for a visit to the Cherrydale Shops, a hub for floral and yoga lovers alike. After taking a yoga class at Sun and Moon Yoga, visit Company Flowers for a beautiful arrangement to take home, and grab some sushi from Genji Ramen and Sushi Bar.
The Lee Heights Shops have a multitude of amazing options to choose from. From French cuisine at the newly opened Café Colline, books and games for kids at Child’s Play, and treats from Pastries by Randolph, to stylish clothing at Lemoncello, pet treats and toys from Woofgang Bakery, and tasty food from Chipotle, Crisp & Juicy, and Arrowine & Cheese, cyclists and their families will not be disappointed!
Woodstock Park, right next to the Lee Heights Shops, is a fantastic option for Arlington residents to enjoy a day outside. Enjoy the small 1 and 1/4 acre grassy area complete with water fountains, a playground, and a drop-in basketball court.
High View Park, a three-acre park located just off Langston Boulevard, offers Arlington residents a plethora of fields, a picnic area, playground, charcoal grills, lighted basketball courts, a rock-climbing wall, a baseball/softball field, and bleachers and an amphitheater. The park is an awesome place for cyclists to take their families for a summertime picnic and outdoor activities!
Stop by Lee Harrison Shopping Center, the popular Langston Boulevard neighborhood shopping center, where cyclists can grab a slice from Pie-Tanza, snag some goodies to bring home at Sushi-Zen, pick up Taqueria el Poblano’s famous margarita recipe, or drop off kids at Kumon Learning Center for a tutoring session.
